Meet the world’s first smartphone with 4 rear cameras

Samsung Electronics, on Thursday, announced the new Galaxy A9 smartphone with what it calls the world’s first rear quad camera. (Oh, by the way, my prediction has turned out to be true)

Yes, the device comes with as many as four rear cameras, which the company says, is designed for “capturing a dare-devil selfie or that perfect panorama.”

“As a global leader in smartphone innovation, we understand the demand for meaningful innovation in a fast-paced world driven by visual communication,” DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, said.

“Building on our legacy in smartphone camera development we’re introducing next-generation technology across our entire Galaxy portfolio,” Koh added.

Innovative, indeed!

According to Samsung, the Galaxy A9’s four lenses allows you to get close to the subject without compromise with the 2x Optical Zoom for detailed close-up shots even from far away.

The phone also sports a Ultra Wide Lens while the AI-powered Scene Recognition allows the camera to instantly identify the subject and adjust settings accordingly.

You can also use the Depth Lens to manually manage the photos’ depth of field and focus on the subject to capture better images.

In addition, the Galaxy A9’s 24MP Main Lens lets you capture clear and bright images in both bright and low light conditions.

Samsung highlighted the key features of the Galaxy A9 in a series of tweets. Have a look:
